Callaway Gardens
Well, the first place that comes to mind is Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga., which is about 75 miles south of Atlanta. The azaleas bloom sometime in April, depending on how the weather goes. That kind of thing is hard to time. Regardless, there are also countless other flowers that will be in bloom during the spring. Your chances are better in April than in May.Callaway Gardens also has a lovely butterfly house, a golf course, swimming and bike paths.

Macon Cherry Blossom Festival
This city-wide festival fills 10 days with events, concerts, exhibits, arts and crafts, hot air balloons and more against a backdrop of more than 300,000 Yoshino cherry trees; the most in the world!

Gibbs Gardens
The gardens have a large varitety of plants and ponds spread out around a large estate. The paths are made of a fine gravel that are easy to walk on. It is early in the season, so the most abundant flower was the daffodils. Walked for two hours, viewing the Japanese gardens and the manor house. Lots of benches if you need to stop to rest. They have a small cafe with pre-made sandwiches, chips and drinks.
